Traveling by car from Adelaide to Tatachilla takes an hour. On the 15th (Tue), you'll have the morning to explore before heading off to Coonawarra.

Coonawarra is a small town north of Penola in South Australia. Kick off your visit on the 15th (Tue): learn about winemaking at Wynns Coonawarra Estate, then do a tasting at Redman Wines, and then learn about winemaking at Menzies Wine Room & Retreat. On your second day here, learn about winemaking at Leconfield Coonawarra, learn about winemaking at Bowen Estate Coonawarra, do a tasting at Katnook Coonawarra, then do a tasting at Rymill Coonawarra, then contemplate the long history of Petticoat Lane, and finally learn about winemaking at Banks Thargo Coonawarra.

You can drive from Tatachilla to Coonawarra in 4.5 hours. Another option is to do a combination of car and flight. In December, plan for daily highs up to 28°C, and evening lows to 11°C. On the 17th (Thu), you'll have the morning to explore before heading off to Victor Harbor.

Victor Harbor

Victor Harbor is a town in South Australia on the south coast of the Fleurieu Peninsula, about 80 km south of the centre of Adelaide. Relax by the water at Horseshoe Bay and Rapid Bay Beach. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Waitpinga Beach and Morgan Beach. Go for a jaunt from Victor Harbor to Delamere to see Blowhole Beach about 48 minutes away. There's lots more to do: kick back and relax at Parsons Beach, brush up on your knowledge of spirits at Encounter Coast Spirits, learn about winemaking at Victor Harbor Winery, and step off the mainland to explore Granite Island.

Traveling by car from Coonawarra to Victor Harbor takes 4.5 hours. Traveling from Coonawarra in December, plan for a bit warmer nights in Victor Harbor, with lows around 17°C. On the 20th (Sun), you'll have the morning to explore before heading off to Moonta.

Moonta is a town on the Yorke Peninsula of South Australia, 165km north-northwest of the state capital of Adelaide. Visit The Copper Coast and Simms Cove for some beach relaxation. Explore hidden gems such as Pikes Wines and The Little Christmas Shop. Step out of Moonta with an excursion to Grosset Wines in Auburn--about 1h 30 min away. Next up on the itinerary: take in the waterfront at Port Hughes Jetty, stroll around Victoria Square, and steep yourself in history at Moonta Heritage Trail 38.
