Snaking up the side of a rounded, tree-dotted hill, Hobart sits between Tasmania’s sprawling mountains and the vast estuary of the River Derwent.
Explore Hobart's surroundings by going to Tessellated Pavement (in Eaglehawk Neck) and Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary (in Brighton). On the 6th (Wed), give your taste buds a day to remember with a local gastronomic tour. Sydney to Hobart is an approximately 4.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of train, ferry, and bus; or do a combination of bus and ferry. Plan for a bit cooler temperatures traveling from Sydney in January, with highs in Hobart at 26°C and lows at 14°C. You'll have a few hours on the 8th (Fri) to wrap things up before traveling to Swansea.

Binalong Bay is a small coastal town in north-east Tasmania, situated at the southern end of the Bay of Fires. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Binalong Bay: Little Blue Lake (in South Mount Cameron) and Blue Tier (in Weldborough). There's still lots to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Bay of Fires Conservation Area, relax and rejuvenate at Aloha Dreaming Massage, and go for a walk through Bay of Fires.
