Once synonymous with the mysterious and inaccessible Shangri-La, today Kathmandu draws an ever-increasing number of tourists, catering to independent travelers of various budgets.
You'll explore and learn at Patan Museum and Taragaon Museum. Swayambhunath Temple and Kathmandu Durbar Square are good opportunities to explore the local culture. When in Kathmandu, make a side trip to see National Art Gallery in Bhaktapur, approximately Bhaktapur away. Make the 24th (Tue) a memorable day with a climbing tour. There's lots more to do: take a stroll through Thamel, indulge in some personalized pampering at some of the best spas, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Shree Pashupatinath Temple - Gwola Mahadyo, and take in the exciting artwork at Universal Art Gallery.

Lille, France to Kathmandu is an approximately 14.5-hour flight. Traveling from Lille to Kathmandu, you'll lose 4.8 hours due to the time zone difference. When traveling from Lille in December, plan for a bit warmer days in Kathmandu, with highs around 22°C, while nights are about the same with lows around 5°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 28th (Sat) early enough to travel to Pokhara.

Traveling from Kathmandu in December, expect somewhat warmer with lows of 10°C in Pokhara. Finish your sightseeing early on the 29th (Sun) so you can fly to Chitwan National Park.
