Crown Jewel of Maui
Once the booming capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom, the tropical paradise of Lahaina still remains one of Maui's top vacation attractions, providing both culture and recreation.Venture out of the city with trips to Ho'okipa Beach Park (in Paia), Wailea (Maluaka Beach & Wailea Beach) and Makawao (Ho'omana Spa Maui, Hui No‘eau Visual Arts Center, &more). Buffalo to Lahaina is an approximately 14-hour flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 5 hours traveling from Buffalo to Lahaina. Plan for a bit warmer temperatures traveling from Buffalo in May, with highs in Lahaina at 81°F and lows at 70°F. A Rare and Sacred Landscape
Haleakala National Park offers visitors the rare opportunity to walk down into the intact crater of a volcano.Kick off your visit on the 6th (Sun): cruise along Hana Highway - Road to Hana. Here are some ideas for day two: contemplate the geological forces at Haleakala Crater, pause for some serene contemplation at Huialoha Church, then ride a horse along Pipiwai Trail, and finally don't miss a visit to Charles Lindbergh's Grave.
