You'll have no problem finding a place to stretch out on the white sand of Bang Tao Beach, one of Phuket's longest stretches of shoreline. The water is typically calm but gets very dangerous in rough weather, so keep an eye out for red flags marking the beach. Rent a sun lounger or umbrella for comfort, and grab refreshments from the stand in front of the nearby hotels when you get hungry. Public restrooms are not available. For a bit of excitement, look for horseback riding activities offered by the nearby riding club.
