Phang Nga Elephant Park is run by a family that has cared for elephants for 150 years. The park is within a typical rural village, where a small group of people works on providing the elephants with good living conditions. The aim of the park is to protect the animals and stop abusive practices, while providing the wildlife with positive interactions with humans--and education for those humans who come in touch with them. Had a really amazing experience doing the mourning half day with Finn, and Baramee, our elephant for the day. The place is very big on conservation and ethical tourism, while encouraging more interaction with the elephants than some places. The whole experience was finished off with a very tasty home cooked meal. The guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining, the mahouts very nice, and the elephants... truly magical.
Fantastic family experience. Friendly guides and attention to detail are both excellent. Great food. Ethical treatment of animals. A must do.
