Bang Son Bay is a very quiet bay with a few restaurants and some accommodation is to be found. The swimming is not very good at this bay as you need to walk out a long way to get any depth. The best..... more »

Bang Son Bay takes me back to when I was a child many years ago living in Singapore and travelling to tropical beaches long before any tour groups knew they existed. Only a few westerners come here... more »

As you can see from the photos not many using the beach. Main reason I believe is due to the lack of facilities (restaurants, shops, toilets, showers etc), well that I could find. Also with the Bang Son river flowing into the Bay my experience is that the water is never clear. If you are looking for a place to swim with cleaner water I would suggest you try Thung Sang Beach which is 20km north of Ao Bang Son Beach, still on the 4004 "Scenic Route".

Went there several times. The beach is beautifully rare find and quiet. But the fact that it’s located in a local’s living area is might not quite suitable for foreigners tourists. Villagers could be out for fishing, burning coconuts outdoor, camping ect anytime. A lot of friendly stray dogs. No facilities for tourists. Unless you like to explore it that way. It’s could be a kind of new experience too. Public road for a short distance and dead end. (Two-way street.)
