Shaan and Jeevan's Eco-Farm, Ko Lanta

Shaan & Jeevan's eco-farm is about walking the talk for a Better Tomorrow.

1. Live environmental-friendly and off the grid.

Build our house in a Thai traditional way. Limit our waste and footprints by reusing, recycling, reducing, restore and repairing. Save and harvest water. Use renewable energies.

2. “Grow Local - Eat Local.”

Cultivate local fruits and vegetables. Have free roaming chickens. Start a bee-hive. Farm without toxic chemicals, fertilizers and pesticides. Ban GMO seeds and advocate for free organic seed exchange. Eat and promote local foods.

3. Share our knowledge and be an example.

Set in motion community programs with the local schools and farming communities around the principals of eco-friendly living and farming. Hence empower locals to be the change they wish to see on the island.

4. Organize nature tours and raise environmental awareness.

Teach about the fragile and fascinating eco-system of the mangroves. Bring light to the inter-tidal wildlife and how to preserve the un-spoilt white sandy beaches. Walk around the eco-farm and explain about the common fruits, vegetables, herbs and leaves used in Thai households.

5. Set-up cultural tours in our local village. Building bridges.

Visit the local school, farms, mosques and handicraft shops. Set-up a network of local thai host families to be able to offer home stays experience on the island. By building bridges between the local thai muslim community and visitors and expats, we increase the understanding and tolerance among human beings.

6. Encourage volunteering and WWOOF-ing.

Connect people from all around the world who are change-makers and who want to make a difference. Learn from others and be an inspiration. Together we can build a Better Tomorrow.
