A not-for-profit organization, Elephantstay distinguishes itself as an innovative, working elephant village dedicated to conserving elephants. Great opportunity to meet one of the most fascinating animals, just grab some vegetables (50 Bat) and feed them. At the afternoon (about 5pm) you can watch the cleaning in the river. But the staff hits them a lot! Especially the women. Is that really necessary? Don't think so. That's why we can't recommend this place for 100%.

We recently took our 12 year old grandson to experience living amongst the elephants at Elephantstay, Ayutthaya. It was amazing and he loved every minute of it … from the countless feeds, riding to the river, washing "Rosikon" (our elephant) and to even cleaning up the poop!!! It is a credit to the 2 ladies who run the Kraal and their dedication is a huge inspiration! The lovely food is traditional Thai and plentiful and they are currently upgrading the huts which is great. With only a maximum of 12 people it makes a very personal 3 days and we would recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning more about these huge, friendly, lovable animals!
