Etang de la Gruère is a small lake in the Jura range near Saignelégier, Canton of Jura, Switzerland. The lake and the surrounding bog is a nature preserve. The lake was formed in the 17th century, when a dam was built for a mill.

    Beautiful landscape. Beautiful lake with dark water. Walkways on wooden decks make it easy to get around. Might be crowded on nice days. Dogs are allowed, however there are no trash bins and no...  more »

    Yep definitely a walk not to be missed. Feels a little like Canada but on a much smaller scale.

    This pond is great for a 30-40 minute walk (as it's circumference is not too large) and also provides many spots to sit an enjoy the view. While it can get busy during the day, the evening is an ideal time to visit as most tourists will have already left. The pond's beauty is enhanced by its dark waters, which are enriched by peat. However, the water is often so still that it takes on the sky's color.
