Explore the house where Albert Einstein first developed the theory of relativity, forever altering the world of physics, at Einstein House (Einsteinhaus). Here at Kramgasse No. 49, Einstein developed the famed Annus Mirabilis papers, leading to the development of modern physics. Walk through the top floor to get a sense of Einstein's living situation during the period of 1903 to 1905. Read signboards, view pictures, and watch a video that outlines the events of Einstein's life. You'll also see relics, such as baby clothes, his wife's clothing, and old passports. Keep in mind that the museum is very small and can only accommodate a few groups of visitors at a time.     The house is small and was quite crowded during my visit. There are a lot of explanatory boards, but in general it is not very interesting and can be missed.  more »

    Available space was fully utilised with a good level of information, just a bit cramped if you happen to arrive at a busy time. Well supported by family letters and other correspondence, interesting....  more »

    Thoroughly enjoyed this museum. Be sure to watch the 20 min video as it supplements the rear of the exhibits. Then there's a lot of reading - but it is fascinating. If you like history and historic people, you'll love this museum.Also if you need to know more after this go to the History museum across the river and there's more on Einstein there

    This is a small place; however this is a nice and short introduction to Mr. Einstein life. Especially for any age kids and teens nowadays. There is a nice video; however it can be very hot in this room when outside temperature is high. For 30-40 minutes going through Mr. Einstein life this is worthy. If one is interested more and has more time, there is a wonderful Bern Historical Museum.
