In an Art Nouveau building in the heart of the city lies Fotografiska Stockholm, a large center for contemporary photography. Since it opened in 2010, this museum has presented a variety of renowned works from photographers like Annie Leibovitz and Robert Mapplethorpe, as well as popular events in its exhibit spaces, conference rooms, gallery, and academy. The site hosts four main exhibits and 20 smaller ones every year. Take in views of the city from the trendy cafe on site. Great late night hang spot. As a tourist, it is kind of hard to find something to do during the evening between the eating and bar crawling and sleep, but if you come here you can also look at art. This is a good spot to look at interesting photography, and catch a great view of the city at night.
Fotografiska was one of my favorite things in Stockholm! Beautifully organized with well-designed lighting, it provides a real space to contemplate the current exhibits. It's also not overwhelmingly big (like some museums) so it's perfect for an afternoon trip.
