The most visited church in Sweden, Lund Cathedral represents an excellent example of Romanesque architecture with many historical features. The cathedral was founded in 1080 in Lund, a significant religious and cultural city during the Middle Ages. Today over 700,000 people visit the church each year, for both worship and general tours.     Better than a lot of other Swedish Churches. Quite ornate and well preserved plus a crypt downstairs. There is an astrological/zodiac clock there which advertises its chiming (implying its worth watching), it isn’t. If you’re there stay but don’t feel the need to return (like we did) :(

    Ancient cathedral restored to its original Romanesque appearance. Impressive architecture, and plenty to see. A very welcoming place compared to other cathedrals in Europe. The astronomical clock is most impressive and puts on a show at noon and 1500 most days. An important historical site for Sweden/Denmark. Bring in the town centre, there is much else to see if you're not that interested in Christian architecture.
