Overlooking the Caribbean Sea and dating back over 300 years, Fairview Great House & Botanical Garden is a prime example of Colonial architecture built almost completely from wood. Once the residence of a French military commander, the house functioned as a hotel during the 1960s and was finally restored to its former glory in 2008. Tour the house to learn about its history. It is accompanied by over two acres (0.8 ha) of botanical garden featuring an apiary, cobblestone central courtyard, a private chapel where you can go rum tasting, and a restaurant.     Nice house, not large, well laid out. I wouldnt go overboard about it being a botanic garden. I was a very nice garden with some well labelled plants but not enough interest if going because of that.....  more »

    Had a wonderful experience today beginning with an A.C. bus ride taking us around the area of Bastille before going to this historic sight. Great deal of history to the house and our guide had 4 years of experience as did our chef. A beautifully prepared feast of wonderful food, a nice walk on the property and tasting of various local flavored rums! I highly recommend this tour which we booked via Princess Cruiseline
