Observe a blend of Islamic and Catholic culture at Palacio de la Aljaferia, a fortified medieval palace. Built during the second half of the 11th century by the Moors, the complex was expanded in the Renaissance by the Catholic king and queen. Take in the Moorish designs in the courtyard, the ornate ceiling of the Catholic Monarch’s throne room, and Mudéjar art in the onsite museum. Guided tours are available. The site is now host to the regional parliament of Aragón, which means access to certain areas of the palace is sometimes limited. Find out whether this will interfere with your visit at the tourist office. For travelers who use our world travel planner, Zaragoza holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Palacio de la Aljaferia and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

Nice castle that shows three periods of time and three styles in one building. I recommend it. The Muslim part is most impressive.

It is worth a visit. But make sure that you plan for them closing down 30 minutes before the posted closing time. We arrived there at 1:15pm and the attendant assured us that we would have at least 45 minutes before they closed at 2pm as posted. However, by 1:30pm the employees were exiting us out of the building and were literally ripping out of the parking lot by 1:40pm. The palace is worth the visit. Just make sure that you have enough time to see it as the posted hours are not necessarily honored.
