Papagayo Beach, Nerja

#3 of 9 in Beaches in Nerja
Beach · Hidden Gem · Nature / Park
Papagayo Beach is a picturesque beach with soft, white sand and turquoise waters. The beach is surrounded by rock cliffs, although paths have been created for easy access. The water is great for swimming, even for children, as it is shallow and calm. Take your snorkeling gear and wade out to view exotic fish through the glassy water. Parasols and beach chairs aren’t readily available, so be prepared to bring your own equipment. • A really good beach close to the balcon de Europe. Water really clear, sunbeds available and toilet and shower facilities. Ideal.  more »
  • This beach links to another small beach on the opposite side of the Balcon. Unfortunately, Nerja doesn't have a joined-up system of boardwalks like many towns and it's not possible to continue...  more »
  • Amazing little beach in the center of Nerja. You can only fit around 100 people on the pebble beach, but its worthwhile to have a lovely day at one of Nerja's small beaches. Hammocks available at around 4.50€ more or less you are all on the frontline...
  • The only bad thing about this beach is the management of the sun loungers. The employee they have is an uneducated and unfriendly person, he has bad dealings with tourists. If you want to reserve the sun lounger for the next day you are charged one euro more per sun lounger, which I think is fine, as long as it is informed, but in the sign it says that the price is 5 euros per sun lounger, and depending on the sun lounger you are putting a cloth umbrella and putting you a cloth umbrella and putting you two more sun loungers next door without having room to move. This uneducated and unfriendly person is new this year, previous years always people in charge of the sun loungers with good treatment. I recommend the beach but not the sun loungers.
