It was quite an adventure to have made such a walk with small kids of 7 and 2 years old. It’s not impossible to make it with kids, but still fairly difficult. You have to wear comfortable shoes, have enough water, your swimming stuff and a torchlight (or a phone with enough battery) with you. You’ll surely enjoy the views from the path to the cave. There are lots of steep parts of the path, with lots of sharp stones. So I recommend you wear good quality shoes. If you choose to go with kids, you have to count on yourself. I had to carry my kids pretty most of the track. One of the drawback is a relative absence of signs and security barriers. The path is fairly dangerous in some places. The timing is also very important. It must be very hot to walk the distance in summer. We’ve done it in October and it’s been quite hot anyway. In general, the trip to the cave is quite a good experience to make when you are in denia.
