Explore the rugged and rocky coastline of Alicante at Parc Natural del Montgó, home to more than 650 species of plants and animals and some of the best scenery in Spain. Delve into the park’s more than 2,100 hectares (5,190 acres) of wild scrubland and mountainous terrain. Travel to the heart of the preserve and climb to the summit of Monto mountain, which rises to a height of 753 m (2,470 ft) above the surrounding plain. From the top, you'll enjoy panoramic views of the ocean, mountains, and occasionally the Balearic island of Ibiza. Wear appropriate footwear, as the terrain can be rough at times. The climb can easily take three to four hours one way, and is therefore not recommended for those with limited mobility. Start your trip to Denia by creating a personalized itinerary on Inspirock.

  • Montgo, Jesus Pobre, Denia, Gata; are all beautiful. I grew up having Summers in Javea and I love it there.  more »
  • 2 hours to the top and 2.5 down. We did it with a 6 year old and a dog and it was a wonderful day out. Great sense of achievement, good exercise and spectacular views  more »
