Standing on a rocky hill and overlooking the river, Bratislava Castle dominates the city and offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes, including the neighboring countries of Austria and Hungary. The massive, fully restored building is topped with four corner towers. Look for the well-conserved original part of the structure, the 15th-century Sigismund Gate. The castle houses the national museum and four halls exhibiting archaeological findings, such as the prehistoric statue of the Venus of Moravany. Catch a concert at the Baroque chapel, now converted into a music hall. If you get hungry, dine at the restaurant housed an erstwhile Baroque stable facing an English park.     We visited the castle 🏰 in a very warm day. I would recommend taking a hat and water during summer months as the castle is located on a hill. It offers majestic views and the garden is well kept.  more »

    Didn't visit the insert of the castle but the walk up the castle was really pleasant and the views of the town from the castle was great. Recommended.  more »

    Great landmark and restored castle on the hill of Bratislava. The walk up to the castle is lovely but long. I discovered many statutes and gates along the way. The views of the new city are interesting. I didn’t go into the museum because of the reviews I read and cost of entrance. Enjoy.

    Certainly a world-class Castle. I didn't go inside, but I spent a good 45 minutes walking around the grounds. It was very impressive from the outside. Beautiful walls and an amazing view from the public spaces.
