Gear up or wind down--the choice is yours--under the swaying palms of East Coast Park. This multifaceted park offers something for everyone, with an emphasis on outdoor recreational activities. Check out the beach volleyball pit, go on a cycling excursion, try cable skiing, go sailing, or dive into the skate park. There are plenty of picnic and barbeque pits available to make your own meals, or you can opt to visit one of the nearby restaurants. The beach is entirely man-made and protected by breakwaters, so feel free to dive right in. A very peaceful place for doing anything. One can run, walk, have discussions, play with friends, swim, cycle, skate and camp too. The place also offers barbecue pits with online pre-booking. This place had my soul during my stay in Singapore as it's one of the most peaceful places I have been in Singapore. You can be almost sure that the place will always be breezy. Recommended to go during the evening rather than morning as sun shines directly on you in the morning (as it's facing east) whereas during evenings, the beach side is covered in shadow. I have also slept here during nights and sleeping with the sounds of the waves is the best form of relaxation one can get.

Here, visitors can take part in all kinds of leisure activities - from recreational cycling and rollerblading to fishing and skating. They can also stroll along the 15km stretch of beach and dine at various family-friendly restaurants. Unparalleled sunrise and sunset views are good enough reasons to head to East Coast Park - a scenic beach park stretching over 15km from Marine Parade to Bedok in the south-eastern part of Singapore. Bedok Jetty in Area F, which extends into the sea, is a good spot to capture spectacular sky and sea views. Visitors can also rent bicycles (try CycleMax, open 24 hours, facebook.com/cyclemax.sg) and ride on the cycling path along the picturesque coastline. The sandcastles at Area E, embellished with intricate staircases, bridges and fortification, are Instagram-worthy.
