Built in the Chinese Imperial style, Chinese and Japanese Gardens offers more than just colorful plants and landscapes. The attraction includes a pavilion, tea house, and museum. Step under pagodas, stroll across bridges, and view architecture modeled after that of the Sung dynasty at these 13.5 hectare (more than 33 acre) gardens. Professor Yuen Chen Yu designed these gardens in 1975 and they have since been enjoyed by the public. Take a walk through the Bonsai Garden, stop by during a festival, or bring your kids to the Live Turtle and Tortoise Museum housed on site. Such a beautiful park! I went here for a run and stopped for about 30 minutes to take pictures of the beautiful flowers and scenery. The lilies were blooming in late February. This park was very calm and relaxing. On a Sunday morning at around 10 am, there were only 1-2 other people there. It would be a great place for reading, meditating, drawing etc.

It's really a delicate place to go if you have an idle weekend. We live not so far so we just walk there. It's a bit over decorated considering how small it is. But the Japanese elements do give the whole place a hue of silence and peace. Besides, you don't have to be a pro to take nice pics there, since the setting has provided enough contrast.
