Pay respect to the lives lost in the conflicts of the late 20th and early 21st century at Yekaterinburg War Memorial. This touching monument was initially erected in memory of the casualties of the Afghan War, and was later expanded to include the victims of the war in Chechnya. Curved black marble pillars that bear the years of conflicts and the names of the fallen surrounded the statue of a soldier with his head bowed. In front of the memorial you'll often see flowers left by people to honor those who are gone but not forgotten.
