Rastorguyev-Kharitonov's House, Yekaterinburg

#4 of 42 in Historic Sites in Yekaterinburg
Historic Site · Architectural Building
Nowadays hosting children's creative activities, Rastorguyev-Kharitonov's House used to be one of the greatest palatial residences of the Ural region. Commissioned in 1794, this neoclassical building was intended to serve as home to many generations of Rastorguyev's heirs. However, the original owner died before the house was finished and the heirs abandoned it after failed attempts to share it. A visit the site provides scenic landscapes, hills, and a pond. Stroll along the winding paths that lead through forests and admire the facade with Corinthian colonnades. According to local legend, the house also has a labyrinth of underground passages beneath it.
