Though Tula is best known for Leo Tolstoy's country estate, the city has plenty of additional cultural and historical intrigue. The destination boasts a number of great restaurants and unique museums, including one focused on the city’s traditional gingerbread dessert. Most impressively, the striking Tula Kremlin in the city center is a nine-tower rampart with two cathedrals and a museum inside.
