The Cathedral of Christ the Saviour (Russian: Храм Христа Спасителя, Khram Khrista Spasitelya) in the Russian city of Kaliningrad (formerly Königsberg) is the largest church of Kaliningrad Oblast. It is the dominant building of the inner city and is situated near the central square, called Ploshchad Pobedy (Victory Square).

The Cathedral's construction was completed on 10 September 2006. A small wooden chapel that served as a temporary worship space still stands nearby.

  • Although the cathedral is quite new ( a bit more than ten years), it is beautiful inside. They have beautiful icons inside. It is an Orthodox Church and I had the chance, to visit a liturgy there...  more »
  • Guess what I liked was the somewhat different appearance of the church. Its prominent location in Pobedy square makes it hard to miss so give it a look while you are here.  more »
