Explore the rich interiors of Peles Castle, furnished with Murano crystal chandeliers, stained-glass windows, gold and silver plates, and ebony and ivory sculptures. This 19th-century royal castle, named after the neighboring brooks, was built of wood, bricks, stone, and marble. It features over 160 rooms with lots of wood carvings. Some walls here are covered with Cordoba leather, and the armory rooms house a robust weapon collection. Visit the reception room to see paintings and wooden sculptures depicting the castles of the Hohenzollerns. The seven terraces surrounding the castle are decorated with Italian statues, fountains, and ornamental vases. Nearby attractions include guards' chambers, a hunting house, royal stables, and a power plant. Very well organized & worth visting. Not even close to the hell we experienced at Bran, staying in the queue for 3 hours or more. Here everything is organized & we had a very well prepared guide... more »

A beautiful walk until there. A beautiful view from the outside. The first problems arise with the long line of tourists, which I understand it can be difficult to handle. Be ready to wait even if you come early. Outside of the beautiful castle outside and inside, the tours provided could be better (at least mine wasn't that good). But the worst part it was the speed how things went and the size of the group, which was too large. You barely could hear and make questions because you needed to move fast all the time. I ended up going to the second floor, and I must say there wasn't almost no tourists there. The reason is simple: you have to pay more. This time I even ended up walking by myself, without a guide. But is was way more enjoyable because I could actually appreciate the beauty of the castle. And the most beautiful room I saw was on that second floor - it's worth the money. The only thing I have to say to the people who run the castle is to attempt to organize this better, to make the tours more enjoyable and with smaller groups.

It's one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to. The castle is truly magnificent and well worth the price. I was enthralled with its ornate beauty, you don't see craftsmanship like that every day. Everyone should go and see it and enjoy the surrounding beauty too.
