Romania's biggest winter resort sits 1,020 m (3,379 ft) above sea level, and was expanded and modernized in 2010. The resort features 24.5 km (15 mi) of ski runs, hotels, restaurants, cafes, and a nightclub. Take a minibus from your hotel to the base of the ski runs and then hike or ride a cable car to the summits for the best view of the mountains. Taste some mulled wine or "țuică," a Romanian pepper-spiced alcoholic drink. Restaurants mostly serve traditional fare. The plateau is very attractive and so are the surroundings but there is everywhere plastic and garbage, despite garbage bins. A lot of uncontrolled cut trees and building instead. Bad food and... more »

Really good resort for a long weekend, the slopes were quiet in the week so great if you want to get some ski runs in. Really good value for money. Slopes and lifts easy accessible. Would go again more »
