Best place we visited in Funchal. We took guided 30 minutes tour (bought at the place at cost of wine tasting at the end). We don't know much about wines and we actually learned something here. At the end of tour we there was wine tasting of 5 year blend and "rainwater" wines. You can buy other too. Learning and tasting aside: the building is great and it has a really nice scent.

Fantastic experience, but recommend doing the “vintage” tour. Knowledgeable guides, able to answer every question about Madeira wine making. Set in the original, Blandy’s winery, the whole place is imbued with history and the sweet, oaky smell that pervades every room is just devine.
