Stortinget, Oslo

#35 of 462 in Things to do in Oslo
Government Building · Hidden Gem · Architectural Building
Gain insight into Norwegian history, politics, and struggle for independence on a guided tour of Stortinget. Designed both inside and out by the Swedish architect Emil Victor Langlet and designated for parliament in 1866, the building has influences of French and Italian architecture. Most notably, the plenary chamber sits in the semi-circular part of the building rather than at the center. Guided tours cannot be booked in advance, so arrive 30 to 45 minutes early to guarantee your spot. To visit Stortinget and other attractions in Oslo, use our Oslo trip maker site.

  • Adjacent to a park on Karl Johans Gate. Interesting looking building offering free tours. Unfortunately we didn't have the spare time to go inside. Other reviews say it is well worth it.  more »
