Must see · Landmark · Tourist Spot
One of the 18 National Tourist Routes in Norway, Aurlandsfjellet National Tourist Route features a 47 km (29 mi) long stretch of mountain road that connects one fjord to the next. The road connects a variety of landscapes, and on it you will see everything from grassy meadows to rolling hillside to glacier peaks and snow-capped rocks. You'll encounter hillside villages, steep drops, and blue lakes along the route, and it's not uncommon to come across a herd of sheep at the road's edge, or a herd of cattle out for an afternoon stroll.
