Beautiful beach and surrounds. The dark sand gets EXTREMELY hot, so be careful and wear shoes. The beach is super flat so on low tide you'll be able to walk out quite a bit.

Great if your a surfer, otherwise swim between the flags as this place is known for rips. Just watch Piha rescue. Lovely black sand beach which can get extremely hot on a sunny day. Its a beautiful place just to sit and unwind watching the sunset.
