Distillerie Depaz
Discover Martinique's rich history of rum production with a visit to Distillerie Depaz, nestled in the grounds of a picturesque sugarcane plantation. The distillery's history traces back to the destruction of all 15 regional distilleries in a devastating volcanic eruption. The Depaz family's single survivor--son Victor--kept the tradition alive by establishing this distillery in 1902. While the staff here doesn't speak a lot of English, you can take a self-guided tour of the grounds using the well-marked trail and informative signage for guidance. Alongside learning about the rum-making process, look out for a mid 16th-century mansion that sits on the trail. With our online itinerary creator, Saint-Pierre attractions like Distillerie Depaz can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

Fantastic place. Just under Mount Pele. The distillary is beautiful with a beatifull old house.

Absolutely beautiful grounds, well maintained and an incredible view toward the sea. The tour is free to walk a marked path that takes you around the grounds and certain areas of the distillery. There is a paid tour of the Chateau Depaz but it does not run on certain days, best check with the counter. Depaz Rhum is fantastic and I think offer a different flavour when compared to other distilleries that don't have the advantage of volcanic soil to grow the sugar canne. Definitely one of the distilleries on the island you should visit.
