Riga Ghetto and Latvian Holocaust Museum tells the story of 70,000 people forced to live and work behind barbed wire, only to be tortured and massacred in the end. The museum outlines ghetto life between 1941 and 1943; here you'll observe photos of those who were held and walk the same alleys that they once walked. You'll also discover more about the volunteers who bravely struggled to help Jews escape the ghetto.     I appreciate it’s free and made from private funds, but there is nothing to see there really. Holocaust is such an important topic that it deserves to be covered in much more detail.  more »

    I visited the Ghetto on the 80th Anniversary of the start of WW2 and the subsequent TV programmes all made had a little bit more understand. Seeing this was very humbling and educational. Seeing the stories of people and how they lived was eye opening.

    Very good site to share information on your history of this horrific event in our lifetime. Displays had a silent effect on me as I reviewed the details of what took place. This is an open and free museum to visit. Worth the time if one has the time.
