Home of the imperial family, Imperial Palace and its expansive grounds stand among the city's most popular attractions for foreign visitors. Badly damaged during World War II, the palace underwent a massive reconstruction project in the 1960s. Today, visitors tour the complex at the heart of the city to see the living and working quarters of the imperial family, as well as an array of historic landmarks that include lush gardens and a famous stone bridge. Must see place in Tokyo. Strongly recommend downloading the app for when you are doing the walk through of the gardens. If you want to actually see inside the the palace then you have to arrive an hour earlier to like up and collect a ticket. Only 100 or so people per session are allowed in. The inside is nice to see but you don’t get to see inside any of the buildings. I would say you can skip it and just see the gardens. The gardens with the app are free to enter and walk you though the process of the imperial palace and its history. Train was the easiest way to get there.

Magnificent park. A great place to admire natural beauty and gather thoughts away from the busy city atmosphere. Also the outer circumference consists of a footpath and bike lanes on which enthusiasts may raise their heartbeats and raise a sweat. I loved the plants inside, especially the numerous cherry trees although being Marcy, there were not yet many blossoms.
