Designed and established by Scotsman Neil McEacharn, Botanical Gardens Of Villa Taranto is home to more than 3,000 plant species. You'll see 300 different types of dahlias, plus azaleas, and Victorian Amazonian greenhouses. The garden's villa has been renovated into government offices that are closed to the public, but you can still admire the outer facade's Victorian artifice. The manicured lawn and fountains outside the villa are free to roam, as are the rest of the 16 hectares (40 acres) of elegant gardens.     Beautiful gardens full of flowers, water features and mountain views. There is plenty of shade to rest in on a hot day and vending machines half way for a cool drink. We loved relaxing in a hammock to regain some energy on a very hot day!

    Picturesque gardens and immaculately maintained. Could do with proper cafe in the gardens itself rather than at the entrance. Only vending machines near the formal garden otherwise. Take a bottle of water in on a hot day Glad the background Vivaldi didn't persist all the way round the gardens...
