  • Romans Castor and Pollux are said to have founded the town in the second century. the altar with in is wooden with a golden frontal dated from 1621. Good reason to keep the door locked. Must revisit.....  more »
  • According to the diocese bulletin "Gallura and Anglona" of 1927 the Oratory of the Rosary would have arisen on the site, where in ancient times there was a pagan temple dedicated to Castor and Polluce, twin sons of Jupiter and Leda, protectors of the legendary Roman garrison present in the territory of the times. The presence above the main facade of the supposed statues of Castore and Polluce, of era and uncertain provenance, is supported by this thesis. The date of construction of the Oratory is not known, but it is supposed to date back to about 1300. Admire the precious wooden altar and the 1700s retablo and the small marble aquasantiera dated 1642.
