Overlooking Salerno at a height of 300 meters (985 feet) is Castello di Arechi. From here, enjoy a full view of the city and the Gulf of Salerno. Built during the sixth century, the settlement has been traced to Norman, Angevin, and Aragonese styles. The castle is currently used to host exhibitions and conferences, and can be entered for free every day except Monday.     We came here on a cruise ship. Lovely walks. We walked up to the castle which was quite a long walk. The scenery was amazing and we took the steps back down which was nice. People very friendly. Lots....  more »

    Old castle on top of the mountain . Take a bus right to the gates. There is a coffe shop in the courtyard. Really worth the trip , even just for the amazing view . You can see the castle from the...  more »

    The castle is nice even in its ruins, you cannot find any attraction there just look around and shoot some photos from the bay. The museum is not tematic, not interesting but shamelessly expensive. Not worth buying it however the stuff stricktly call us. Scam!!!

    Thr hiking track is not well maintained, i will recommend google maps to keep tracking the location. The view from the top of castel is absolutely worth it.
