Must see · Architectural Building · Shopping Mall
Now a huge shopping mall, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II was designed by architect Giuseppe Mengoni and built between 1865 and 1877. Often called "the living room of Milan" because of its importance as a popular meeting and dining place, this building is topped by a glass dome and features an exquisite mosaic floor. Considered one of the city's main landmarks, the mall is home to some of the region's oldest shops, as well as a number of modern, upscale boutiques, including Louis Vuitton and Prada. Choose from numerous cafes and restaurants that serve a wide range of foods for all budgets. This busy commercial building is also a good place to learn about the city's art and architecture, with several notable galleries spread across the mall's extensive grounds. • Really worth a visit for the architecture and to see how the wealthy live. Beautiful day or night I am really glad I went. Also feel lucky as I spun on my heels on a mosaic bulls testicles - when in.....  more »

  • Beautiful architecture. Great people watching. Good selection of restaurants and reasonable prices. Lots of high end shopping. Easy to get to by tram or Metro. Definitely worth a visit when in Milano.
  • I was craving a good Neapolitan pizza with salami and this place delivered. Also had the lamb with past and raspberry cheesecake. All very delicious. We were worried this might be too touristy because of the location but felt like a small family restaurant. The staff was all very pleasant and attentive. Recommend getting a reservation especially if you want to sit out by the plaza.
