My husband and I had visited the Montevecchio mine the previous day and had a disappointing experience.Despite the fact that the tour guide did speak English,she spoke only in Italian,to the Italians.... more »

Interesting place. The guide tried his best to explain in English. We learnt about mining and miner's life. He's very knowledgeable. Interesting samples of minerals from the mine.

excellent! Visit with detailed explanations and objects in relation to this mine and very friendly staff passionate. Small museum made in about 1 hour that lacks financial means to be able to enlarge because not supported by the commune like other larger mines, but that remains very interesting and you will not be asked to pay for the slightest thing as in other tourist spots, and they will answer your questions without looking at the time. Don't miss this!

Luogo molto interessante e con tanto materiale originale di quando la miniera era in funzione. La nostra guida, un volontario, ci ha spiegato con passione e competenza il funzionamento della miniera, e soprattutto le vicende umane dei minatori e delle loro famiglie della zona. Sito da visitare per conoscere la storia recente del Sulcis Iglesiente, sperando che il patrimonio di memoria di questo e di altri siti non vada perduto ma anzi venga valorizzato al meglio nei prossimi anni.

Very interesting place and with so much original material from when the mine was in operation. Our guide, a volunteer, explained with passion and expertise the operation of the mine, and above all the human affairs of the miners and their families in the area. A site to visit to learn about the recent history of Sulcis Iglesiente, hoping that the memory heritage of this and other sites will not be lost but rather be enhanced in the coming years.
