#2 of 9 in Beaches in Carloforte
Beach · Hidden Gem · Nature / Park
Known for its intriguing rock formations that rise from the sea up to 10 m (33 ft) above sea level, Punta Delle Colonne is a wild pebbly beach surrounded by steep cliffs and lapped by clear turquoise waters. Declared a national monument in 1993, the stacks of volcanic rocks have dilapidated since, leaving only a couple to defy the winds and the waves. • It is a really small beach and the colonne could be reached by foot and the footpath is not even a hike. Doable in flipflops! Would recommend it as there is nothing much to do in the small island.  more »
