  • I was down visiting Birr castle and to round off the day as a keen armature photographer I though a visit to Lackeen castle might provide some more photo opportunities and some fun, The castle is in good condition, you can get access through a farmers field, just make sure to lock all the gates after your visit. There is ample room to set up your camera and get your shots. You can enter the castle, visit all the old room and climb right to the top but watch those slippy steps when there wet. Off course coming down you have to be a bit more careful. Listen its not amazing but if your in the area its well worth a visit. There was no one else there but me and I really enjoyed my visit. Cheers
  • Was not sure if I could enter so I hoped the gate there is no number to call or anything but the castle is amazing inside be careful if stair must see pity the farmer doesn't make it easier to get into
