Gougane Barra National Forest Park
Get in touch with nature at Gougane Barra National Forest Park, a stretch of forest filled with paths, alpine trees, wildlife, and a lake. An island in the lake holds a small monastery dating back to the 6th century, when priest Denis O'Mahoney erected it. Much later, a 19th-century oratory was added nearby. The forest is packed with 20 different species of trees, including Sitka spruce, Japanese larch, Scots pine, and lodgepole pine. Take in the natural beauty with a stroll and a picnic, or head to the on-site restaurant. I was there for a walk, place is amazing, location of the park is down the valley surrounded by mountains, it was sunny day and colors as well feel was making me like I would be in heaven. Forest park is beautiful, plenty of trees and walking paths to suit anyone, families as well individuals. Mountains are giving this place majestic feel and look. Well worth stopping if you passing by, because you wont regret. I highly recommend this place for anyone who enjoys pure relaxation and long walks with beautiful scenery. This place is my top 10 to visit

Stunningly beautiful, The weather ran the spectrum from sun and warm breeze, to driving rain and blowing wind, to heavy fog, and back again! It only made the park more impressive. Dress appropriately, with shoes for hiking and layers, including rain pants and jacket.
