To soak up the academic atmosphere of a historical university, take a student-guided tour of Trinity College Dublin. Established by Queen Elizabeth I over four centuries ago, this college is one of the country's major architectural landmarks, its campus boasting numerous well-maintained Georgian and Victorian buildings. The college library holds 250,000 rare volumes, most notably the "Book of Kells," a lavishly decorated sacred text created around the year 800. • Great 35 minute tour of the campus by an alum. Book of Kells was a bit anti-climatic. The library was amazing because of the space, history and ability to get up close to interesting manuscripts without pushing and shoving.
  • Beautiful famous campus in downtown Dublin. It's worth a walk through with us variety of building, old and new. A major stop for many is the Book of Kells. Though it is around 11€ to get into the building. Always feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @joerazz
  • What an amazing experience! Touring the long room and the Book of Kells was so awesome! Beautiful architecture and history.
  • Student tour was lively and informative. It gave a great overview of how the university grew over the years. We loved our guide who was funny and inclusive. Book of Kells is a must-see work of art. Gorgeous colors and wonderful art. Interesting exhibit explains how the Book of Kells was created. Library was my favorite part of Trinity. It holds Brian Boru’s harp
  • It is untrue that #TakeBackTrinity student protestors are locked into the Dining Hall. They can leave at any time they want, and the College is taking all steps to ensure the safety of students inside. As large numbers of non-students had been invited into the building through an open call, and this would result in risks for everyone concerned, no one else is being given access to the building. The students occupying the Dining Hall have water and food as well as access to toilets and medical supplies !!!
