The Céide Fields (Irish: Achaidh Chéide, meaning "flat topped hill fields") is an archaeological site on the north County Mayo coast in the west of Ireland, about

7 kilometres northwest of Ballycastle. The site is the most extensive Neolithic site in Ireland and contains the oldest known field systems in the world. Using various dating methods, it was discovered that the creation and development of the Céide Fields goes back some 5500 years (~3500 BCE).
The site is in UNESCO's tentative list to gain World Heritage status.

    Called into the fields with Superwife the day after storm Ellen passed through. The centre was closed due to C19 but you are able to walk the fields which really enable you to get a super view of the....  more »

    Imagine this: you come looking for toilet. They nag you from entrance to buy a ticket. After finishing your business you have a look around, just to find out you cannot look around without the ticket. So you decide to leave and you hear some racist comments about your country of origin. This is some new idea of Irish hospitality which I do not recommend!

    Realizing how old the rocks are is the only interesting part. The tour was repetitive and the video poor quality. The museum had some artifacts but overall I would not put this on a list of places to see, there are many more interesting options.
