The area is surrounded by the Sheehy and Caha Mountains. It is home to a number of archaeological remains, including ring fort and stone circle sites. Studies have shown that many of these sites are interrelated, and some have astronomical significance.

I liked this park. There's plenty to see if you are in the mood for a nice walk. Several interesting archaeological sites and historic areas all within the same area. Very interesting place if you are interested in Irish and Celtic history.
