  • We had a lovely experience today in our cooking class. It's a hand on experience where they teach you the inspiration and out of not only Balinese recipes and dishes you're preparing, but also, their family and their home. It was a delight to cook along such a large group of lovely people. The owner lady (forgot her name sorry! :-/) was lovely and had good English. Her male counterpart (not her husband) was a bit hard to understand at times, but still understood enough to be able to make the dish again. They also are good at checking with individual dietary needs and allergies. Definitely a delightful experience and probably some of the best food we've had while in Bali.
  • This cooking class was very good. From the welcome lime juice drink to the farewell tea/coffee. The driver picked us up from our villa and took us to this beautiful temple. Prior to the class beginning we got some brief lesson about the temple and was offered a tour after, but we had so much fun talking and laughing at dinner that we totally forgot about the tour. Besides, we were stuffed and didn't feel like moving around. We learned how to make 9 Balinese dishes. These are dishes I would have never tried but each and every one of them were delicious. The cooking class is a combination of the students and the assistants preparing and cooking the meals. Because there were so many meals, this method works out great. Perhaps the best part of the class was Pupsa, the host. She's simply amazing and funny. After the class, we talked and she was so gracious for some tips I gave her when she asked for suggestions. I take a cooking wherever I go on vacation and this one I'd highly recommend.
