Built to celebrate the nation's independence, National Monument (MONAS) towers over central Jakarta and serves as the city's principal landmark. Considered one of the architectural extravagances of Sukarno, Indonesia's first president, this 130 m (425 ft) monument features a sculpted flame on the top, decorated with over 30 kg (70 lb) of gold foil. Built of Italian marble, the soaring tower houses a history museum at its base, where you can see over 50 dioramas narrating the country's struggle for independence. Head to the observation deck for sweeping views of the city from a height of almost 120 m (400 ft).     Indonesia’s most iconic landmark and historical site in the centre of Jakarta. The place is huge and no cars are allowed inside. It is quite a walk from the gate to the centre of the monument and up to the highest vantage point. It is a very good view of Jakarta from above the monument. If you are going up the monument, please come early to avoid the queue as there is only a single lift which accommodate 8 people each trip.

    Nice to visit, Main attraction in Jakarta. Best time to visit evening, and stay until night. Evening light setup also very nice. We can visit there inside of that tower one Museum, and top yard also we can go and enjoy
