A significant temple to the Balinese people and a culturally historical artifact, Lempuyang Temple rewards the hiker not only with an authentic glimpse into the prayer life of the Balinese people, but also picturesque views over the surrounding vista. Suitable for those of moderate to good levels of fitness and walking ability, the site requires visitors to climb 1,700 steps to the summit. Along the way, you will come across ornate Buddhist carvings and architecture. Before you begin, be sure to find a sarong to wear, or ask a guide where to find one, because entry to the temple is not permitted without one. Whilst on a car tour of the local area we stopped here. The line was so long to take a photo and stand at the temple gates. Beautiful view though and worth the wait. more »

We were very lucky to get there when nobody because of the Covid19. The first temple is really beautiful nevertheless we were very disappointed with the new tarification. 100 000 IDR for each tourist or 50 000 IDR for locals + between 100 000 IDR and 400 000 IDR if you want to see the other temples which are just normal. Total for a western family of 4 if you want to reach the top = 800 000 IDR ☹️

The Gate to Heaven. I was fortunate enough to visit the temple during the pandemic. My friend and I were the only people there. 50K entrance fee for locals and foreigners with a kitas. The guys at the temple were relaxing and playing chess. They were happy to take our pictures and recommend poses. A small tip 10-20K is sufficient for the photographers. I’ve heard the horror stories of people waiting hours in line for a picture. Luckily we basically had the place to ourselves. Use the ride feature on Grab to book with an hourly rate. I went from Seminyak to the temple and a nearby waterfall. I was back in around 6 1/2 hours. I paid 400K including tip for the ride.
