Architectural Building · Hidden Gem · Historic Site
Witness the architectural masterpiece of Tomb of Akbar the Great, which the great Mughal architect made for himself with the help of his son. Historical turbulence plagued the region during and after the red mausoleum's construction, and Jats once plundered the intricate tomb, taking with them precious metals, jewels, and carpets. Upon your entrance through the gate, notice the high walls enclosing the lush garden and how the palace strategically occupies the middle. Observe the three-storey tomb with pyramid-like features and four white minarets standing at each corner. Note that foreign and domestic visitors do not pay the same entrance fee. • Beautiful built tomb. The interiors of the tomb have been plastered over and therefore it looks very plain inside as compared to the outside. The stonework on the entrance inside dome is absolutely stunning. Great detailing work. The gardens are amazing with lots of deer which came as a pleasant surprise.
  • The architecture was just amazing. It was made in such a way that is you speak something inside it, you can hear an echo for already 5 seconds. It has the height of 72 feet. It's made such that it feels cool in summer and warm in winter automatically inside the tomb.
