  We were walking down to the lake when we spotted the hotel on the left. There is a Mayan ruin that exists under the hotel and for a fee you can go see it.  more »

  Get a volcano/lake view room. They have One of the best views in the area. The grounds are well kept and it's at the end of the main street so you won't hear a lot of noise at night. Just a few blocks to Circus bar and the other night life.

  Just outside the Beehive of the main tourist strip of Panajachel resides a perfect retreat; which is Posada Don Rodrigo. The grounds are verdant and spacious. Nice rooms are spread around creating a greater sense of privacy. Being right next to Atitlán Lake, you can enjoy sweeping views from one of several viewing decks. The restaurant served us the best meal of our entire Guatemala tour. We also discovered the outdoor pool with water slide, ping pong table, and hot tub.
